Today is World Happiness Day. An entire day officially designated to happiness by the United Nations. A day that is designed to remind us of the importance of being happy (the clue is in the name).
Happiness and well-being must be regarded as universal goals for every human on the planet and should be at the heart of any public policy, says the UN.
And this is all very well and good, but what does ‘happiness’ look like?
The World needs happy thoughts
Happily, the UN has spelled it out. “It’s recognising the need for a more inclusive, equitable balanced approach to economic growth that promotes sustainable development, poverty eradication, happiness and the well-being of all peoples.”
It’s impossible to argue with any of that. And at Knauf Insulation we don’t. Instead, we partner with other companies, groups, associations and policy-makers who share the same vision of happiness.
We campaign for innovative new ways to tackle climate change. We fight to eradicate fuel poverty. We insist on more sustainable and healthy buildings for a better future.
Happy comfort zones
And, of course, we make products that make us happy and make our customers happy. Just in case you’ve forgotten, insulation keeps you warm when it’s cold, cool when it’s hot; turns downs the volume on noise outside and dials down your energy bills as well. Comfort is an important part of feeling happy.
We’re proud of what we do and proud to support World Happiness Day. It’s a global reminder and a global opportunity to do something good for someone else.
So, all together now, if you’re happy and you know it…
Go on.
